Interesting Fact

In ancient times, Kanji 理 referred to the natural veins and patterns inside jade, one of the most treasured stones in ancient China. Skilled craftsmen carefully studied these lines before carving, because cutting against the grain could ruin the entire gem. Over time, 理 came to mean understanding the natural order of things—following the correct pattern instead of fighting it. That's why today it represents reason, logic, and principles.
