Interesting Fact
Sake has a long history in Japanese religious traditions, particularly at Shinto shrines. It was offered to the gods during ceremonies and festivals and could then be shared by people. This tradition continues today: you may see rows of large sake barrels, called kazaridaru, displayed at shrines.
