Interesting Fact
One of Japan's greatest poets, “Matsuo Bashō”, spent years traveling on foot across northern Japan. In 1689, he recorded his experiences in “Oku no Hosomichi” (The Narrow Road to the Deep North), a travel diary filled with haiku, landscapes, and encounters with local people. More than 300 years later, many travelers still follow his route, making it one of the world's most famous literary journeys.
