Opposite, Reverse

さか.らう, さか.らい, さか.さ

JLPT N2

Interesting Fact

Japanese roads drive on the left side, so many visitors feel it's the 'opposite' of what they're used to. The word 逆 (gyaku) is often used whenever something is reversed.

Memory Trick

Imagine everyone walking in one direction while one person walks the opposite way. That person is going in reverse, reminding you of 逆.
